Bo Sanchez
Author
and Inspirational Speaker
Bo
Sanchez is the author of 8 bestselling books and publisher of six
magazines. Bo also has a weekly TV show, a daily Radio program,
and a daily internet TV show. He travels extensively around the
world as a powerful speaker. So far, he has addressed audiences in
13 countries, including 36 cities in North America.
He founded many organizations, such as Anawim, a special home for
the abandoned elderly, and Shepherd’s Voice, a media group that
publishes the widest read inspirational literature in the country.
Last year, he was named one of The Outstanding Young Men (TOYM)
2006.
Privately, Bo is also a micro-entrepreneur. He engages in small
business and real estate not only for his family’s needs and for
his various projects, but also from his firm belief that one of
the most important solutions to his country’s economic problems
is to raise up more micro-entrepreneurs among his countrymen. He
frequently teaches and writes about financial literacy, believing
that our poverty is hugely a product of people’s low financial
I.Q. on subjects such as debt-management, saving, investing, and
business. In another endeavor he’s very passionate about, Bo
started the Catholic Filipino Academy to help parents who want to
teach their children at home.
But above all these, Bo believes that his first call is to be a
loving husband to his wife Marowe and a devoted father to his sons
Benedict and Francis. They live in Manila, Philippines.

Lydia
Lim
Journalist
Lydia has been a
journalist for 14 years, since graduating from university. She
started out in television but made the switch to print 7 years ago
and now writes on Singapore politics for The Straits Times. She
belongs to the parish of St Francis Xavier and has attended mass
there all her life. She was fortunate to have two Cathechism
teachers who made the faith come alive for her.
While in
university in England, she had her first experience of being part
of a Bible study group. The one she joined was led by Protestants
and they got her into the habit of reading Scripture regularly.
But she only
really learned the meaning and value of Christian community when
she returned to Singapore and joined the Harvesters, a Catholic
scripture-based faith-sharing group that she has been a member of
since 1994. This community has been an invaluable help to her in
her struggle to obey Jesus' commandment - to love one another as I
have loved you.
Over the last two years, Lydia has gained a much deeper
understanding of her Catholic faith, thanks to the Dominican
friars. After a year of learning about the Dominican charism,
which is centred on preaching, and the mission of Lay Catholics,
she & her friends have decided to form a Lay Dominican
fraternity, the first here. They start their novitiate in August
this year. |
